What is the Enrosadira?
One of the “special effects” that distinguish the Dolomites is the “Enrosadira”, which is visible at sunrise and sunset when the rocky walls come alive in a progression of intense colours, transforming from pink to red and finally to an ever darkening purple. It is one of the most spectacular phenomena that nature has to offer, due to the specific composition of the Dolomite rock that reacts in a particular way to the change in light.
