The snowy peaks of Passo San Pellegrino will once again become the natural stage for Pizolada delle Dolomiti, a historic mountaineer skiing race scheduled on Sunday, April 6th, 2014. This event is an absolute must for all skinning specialists.
There are a lot of new trends for the 2014 edition, starting with the route , which has been rendered even harder, more selective and more spectacular, completely off piste, with breathtaking descents and a climb on three peaks above the 2500 m mark, including the legendary Cima Bocche. Competitors will be taking on 5 climbs and 5 descents, for a total of 13 Km and an altitude change of 1710 m, while the Junior and excursionist categories will see a reduced variant with only 3 climbs and 3 descents for a total of 10 Km and 1095 m of altitude change. They are two different yet equally compelling challenges that spectators can watch at close range from the slopes of the Passo San Pellegrino. The start for both races is set as usual from the valley station of the Col Margherita cable car lift.
And now, for the first time ever, on the day before the Pizolada, Saturday, April 5th, at 5:00p.m., the Associazione Bogn da Nia will be supporting the organization of a promotional, individual M/F sprint race open to everyone that will include participation by several VIPs and spokespeople for the Scarpa, Karpos and Sportful companies, the official sponsors of the event. It’s a special chance to meet the biggest stars in mountaineer skiing. At the end of the race, the evening will continue on the terrace of the Chalet Cima Uomo with a magical cocktail party under the stars.
Finally, another surprise the participants will surely enjoy regards the race package. This year, in addition to a coupon for the pasta party, there will be a lottery ticket and nutritional supplements offered by the Farmacia Rigoni di Moena. The booty also includes a beautiful wind-breaking parka by Karpos: ultra- lightweight and extremely compact to provide quick and practical protection for any circumstance, perfect for any type of outdoor activity, from trekking to mountain biking.
