|The new year in the San Pellegrino Ski Area is off to a good start. The first snow of the year, almost 15 cm, fell between January 3rd and 4th. This, along with the non-stop operations of snow cannons and the hard work of snow cat operators, allowed for the opening of the Monzoni slope, while starting on Sunday, January 10 skiing will also be possible on the Le Coste slope, one of the most technical and scenic runs in the entire Veneto/Trentino resort.
The Monzoni slope is served by the fast Costabella quad chair lift. It is a fantastic red run that is no less than 51 metres wide, which starts with a first stretch that is quite easy. Further on it picks up speed and provides a series of challenges on various steep parts to be skid with caution.
The Le Coste slope is served by the comfortable Gigante chairlift, and is famous for various changes in incline. It has also hosted important sports events like the Universiadi and the Absolute Italian Championships. This is a favourite stomping ground among athletes from the Italian National Alpine Ski team, who come here to train.
So there’s plenty of good news for anyone who comes to the San Pellegrino Ski Area over the next few days and weekend. Even more so since tomorrow, Saturday the 9th, the weather forecast calls for a lovely snowfall on the Dolomites, which will clear to blue, sunny skies on Sunday: the best conditions in which to ski on perfect slopes, against a winter wonderland background?
