XVII Polartec® Scufoneda

XVII Polartec® Scufoneda

On Saturday, March 15th, the XVII Polartec® Scufoneda will touch down in Passo San Pellegrino, one of the most well known and appreciated tourist destinations in the Dolomites for fans of freeride and telemark.

In pure “Scufons” style, the schedule will cover two days full of activities and meetings which will focus entirely on all forms of skiing in fresh powder.

On Saturday the main event will be the ICARO DAY, a day dedicated to Icaro De Monte, an Alpine guide who passed away last summer. Icaro was a strong proponent of young people and mountain safety. Don’t miss this chance to get to know the signals that the mountain can transmit, learn to respect them and understand how to evaluate potential dangers.

Then, Saturday and Sunday will see the Dolomiti Tour, on and off piste, in the company of experienced Alpine guides. Alessia Monticone will hold lessons in “Snow Yoga” and there will be various active workshops on different levels of telemark. Registration is required. As always there will be plenty of parties and entertainment, as well as the opportunity for free test rides of equipment supplied by several partner companies who are leaders in the outdoor and mountain sector. The legendary Villagio Scufons will be set up at the bottom of the Gigante chairlift, with a Snow Bar featuring excellent products from local artisan workshops.

An unforgettable experience will definitely be the guided tour through the Col Margherita Freeride Park, which is a patrolled run along the North face of the Col Margherita. It’s a proper paradise on the snow for anyone who loves the thrill and adventure of skiing in fresh snow off the beaten slopes. The slope is easily accessible using the fast Col Margherita cable car lift that in just a few minutes takes you from the 1800 m at Passo San Pellegrino up to the 2513 m of the Col Marcherita. The ColMargheritaFreeridePark features proper direction signs, an ARTVA testing gate and qualified safeguard personnel. It is also designated by placards and numbered globes that allow skiers to provide specific information in case of emergency.

So, save the date for this weekend at Passo San Pellegrino for the  XVII Polartec® Scufoneda!
