Dawn in the Dolomites: Col Margherita hosts Moni Ovadia

Wednesday, 28 July 2010 Dawn in the Dolomites: Col Margherita hosts Moni Ovadia

Passo San Pellegrino is full of exciting events during this summer. On July 31st, 2010 at 6.00 a.m. Col Margherita is going to host “Dawn in the Dolomites”, a unique event which brings musicians from across the world to the most beautiful mountains in the Alps.

A festival of words and music performed in the dreamlike atmosphere of the birth of a new day.

The idea is simple and at the same time fascinating: to combine the passion for music and the mountains, art and the environment, in a concert programme celebrating freedom and nature. Participants set off from the valley floor and head for clearings and hollows near the mountain refuges, natural theatres in which the music is performed in complete harmony with the surroundings.

The Festival features internationally renowned artists who, instruments on their shoulders, display their shared regard for the environment by joining the public in walking to the concert venues, on what is both an art and a nature trail.

The protagonist of the event at the top of Col Margherita will be Moni Ovadia, actor and theatre producer, musician, author of many books and also one of the leading representatives of Hebrew culture, to which he is  deeply attached.  His participation in "Dawn in the Dolomites” represents a meeting with the public, against the background of stories narrated with the communicative power for which he is known.

The tour and the concert are for free. For the occasion the cable car Col Margherita will run from 4.00 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. For more information take a look at the official web site: The Sounds of the Dolomites
